Kuala Lumpur City Center (KLCC)
After checking in at the hotel and a 15-minute rest, we took a cab to see the Petronas Twin Towers. On the way, we were asked by the cab driver if we want to visit Beryl’s Chocolate Kingdom. I think the cab drivers normally offer this to tourists. So we got off, spent a few minutes and tried some chocolates. I asked the sales lady which one is their best-seller and she told me it’s the tiramisu chocolates. I tried it and loved it so we bought one pack (1 kg). Costs MYR 78.00. Maybe a bit pricey, but the chocolates are really that good! You should definitely try them.

Hopped on the cab again (we have to make it quick because the taxi meter’s running) and headed straight to Suria KLCC. Looking at the boutiques, this is definitely an upmarket shopping complex.

I love this shot of Burberry ad. Often times, when I admire an ad, I normally deconstruct how the image was lit. On this one, I guess the photographer just used a one 7-foot Octabank in front as you can notice that the three models were evenly lit. How I wish I can shoot an ad like this in the future.

Every Chinese New Year, you’ll get to see the Lion Dance. It’s a traditional dance in Chinese culture in which performers mimic a lion’s movements in a lion costume. We noticed a big crowd awaiting for the performance so we’ve decided to wait as well.

Turned out to be worthwhile. We’ve witnessed a spectacular performance with the two guys wearing the lion costume jumping on the golden poles and performing some stunts.

Behind the mall is the KLCC park. It’s a nice place for relaxation and people watching. Lots of movies and Asian dramas were filmed here. Of course, here’s my pretty wife and lovely daughter.

I finally saw the Petronas Twin Towers. The tallest twin structures in the world.

Another pose by Lana in front of the Twin Towers.

1Malaysia. 1Matlamat ……. checked the dictionary, “matlamat” is the Malay word for objective.

Day and Night. Amazing structures! Too bad, I forgot to shoot when the night sky was still a bit bluish in hue.

….. reminds me of the movie “Entrapment”.

…. this completes Day 1 in KL. =)
